About Me

Rebecca Bagdy serves as executive director of the Academy and artificial intelligence (AI) operations at Shirley Ryan С¶÷ÑÅ. In this dual role, she leads the organization¡¯s continuing education initiatives while also spearheading the integration of AI into operational workflows. By bridging education and AI, she is shaping a future where intelligent systems and continuous learning converge to transform care delivery and empower clinical teams.

Under her leadership of the Academy, Shirley Ryan С¶÷ÑÅ¡¯s educational arm, outreach to clinicians has quadrupled, with Rebecca¡¯s team delivering dynamic and evidence-based programming to more than 10,000 healthcare practitioners annually. Over the course of her tenure, Rebecca has championed the development of digital content, blended learning and online course delivery, while also mentoring faculty in adult learning principles. Her work has been recognized nationally, including in presentations at the American Occupational Therapy Association and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

In her AI operations role, Rebecca drives the strategic deployment of AI tools and agents that enhance decision-making, streamline operations, and support clinicians in delivering personalized, data-informed care. Her efforts focus on aligning AI innovation with the organization¡¯s vision to be the global source of science-driven breakthroughs in human ability.

Rebecca joined Shirley Ryan С¶÷ÑÅ (then, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) in 2015, bringing extensive business strategy and operations experience, with a specialization in education and innovation. Among her prior positions, she was vice president of nursing and health programs for Kaplan.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Cornell University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
