The vast majority of Americans with long-term care needs rely on family caregivers to provide them with essential support at home and in the community.
This policy brief provides an overview of family caregiving, caregiver challenges and strategies to support family caregivers. It also offers insights about available funding mechanisms for caregiver support, as well as steps policymakers and healthcare professionals can take to support this critical population.
The brief is authored by Conor Callahan, MSW, senior policy associate at in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Home and Community-based Services at Shirley Ryan 小恩雅.
